Saying For Today: Through the transformation of ourselves, all changes for us, even though nothing changes.

Night Falls Upon the Shore

Anna is the protagonist in Susan Trott's The Holy Woman. While sitting with an intimate's letter in her hand, we get a glimpse into the sensitivity that arises when one lives close with the Holy.

Anna took what used to be called the Back Trail up the mountain to avoid what seemed to be a lot of people on what used to be the Hermitage Trail. ... She took a little detour to "the bower" where she had celebrated life and love with Drang. ... She sat a while holding the letters she had received from Drang, who was in the capital city five hundred miles away. His words were brief but sweet. She didn't need to read them over, only to feel them in her hands.

We become more sensitive to the subtle through opening ourselves to the totality in which we are; this intimacy is sensitivity, receptivity, welcome. We discover what we had before experienced as ordinary is, in fact, sacred, not for it is extraordinary. Intentional spirituality attunes us to experience anew what does not change but is known for what it always has been. Through the transformation of ourselves, all changes for us, even though nothing changes.
